GRINNOVATIONS

Although number 17 is on the cover, this is a small anniversary of our Magazine, given that it is the 10th issue since we redesigned our bulletin into Magazine and started printing it. With each new issue, we have grown and changed, so now in addition to the permanent columns, we have two new ones – Opinion and Confrontation in which distinguished experts present their views on very delicate topics. There is much debate about the presence of genetically modified food, which is banned in Serbia; thus, we kindly asked university professors Miladin Sevarlic and Vladimir Dimitrijevic to give us their judgement on an invention which was created as a solution to the problem of world hunger. French Ambassador to Serbia Jean-Louis Falconi gladly shared with us the green experience …

CLIMATE CHANGE

NEW ISSUE OF ENERGY PORTAL MAGAZINE When the second issue of the electronic bulletin dedicated to the COP 21 Conference on Climate Change was being prepared in November 2015, the aim of the Editorial board of Energy portal was to raise the awareness of the local public about the increasingly obvious consequences of climate change which include, among others, heat waves, extreme cold, droughts, heavy rainfalls and floods. It has past almost four years since then – the bulletin has been enriched and took an outfit of a Magazine. We have published a total of 14 thematic issues since – even though the information in this area did not participate side by side with political and economic topics in our mainstream media, there’s been noticeable progress in their representation. We want to think that we have contributed to …

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

NEW ISSUE IS OUT NOW! Flying ladybird, mystical dawns, even more mystical sunsets, animals’ natural environments, but also almost usual scenes of human carelessness towards the  environment… and the beauty that loses the battle bit by bit. These are just a few moments skillfully captured on photographs which have been sent to our eco photo competition. Authors from all over Serbia have documented with their cameras nature in its beauty and distress, and we have put their works into a gallery of amazing photographs. A platitude that often might be heard at some winner competition announcement that for the jury “it was a tough decision to make”, in our case is genuinely more than appropriate. Members of the jury who were faced with a difficult decision were: Bojan Dzodan, photographer, Stanko Kostic, art photographer and member of the National Association …

SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

NEW ISSUE OF ENERGY PORTAL MAGAZINE The Study of the United Nations from 1991 showed that almost 40 per cent of arable land had been degraded due to intensive agricultural production. There is no doubt that such a method of production causes enormous damage to the environment. That is why we have decided to devote this issue of our Magazine to Sustainable Agriculture. We want to encourage the decision-makers at different levels to adopt measures that will ensure the sustainability of not only agricultural production, but also the entire society. In this issue, you will have the opportunity to read an interesting interview with Kyle Scott, the US Ambassador to Serbia. He believes that the best solutions often come from individuals and small groups, and the entire environmental movement in …
