Many foreign countries are interested in a solar-powered bus stop entirely designed and manufactured in Croatia.
Based in Velika Gorica near Zagreb, Energomobil has come up with the idea to create their fully autonomous bus stop which gives commuters the possibility of charging cell phones and tablets, and using Wi-fi while waiting for the bus.
“We have been contacted by the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Transport. They have seen the presentation of our solar bus stops and they are interested in installing them in Abu Dhabi. Some other countries such as Egypt, Greece and a number of African countries have also shown interest in these solar-powered bus stops. There has been a lot of interest for this product, since there are not many currently on the market,” claims Energomobil’s Director Marija Mrvelj.
Lighting on the bus stops, which costs 25.500 kuna (around 3.400 EUR) excluding VAT a unit, is powered by photovoltaic modules and smart system ENERGOSMART.
Energomobil, which employs a team of 25 young engineers and managers is also a manufacturer of solar trees, solar street lights, solar benches and solar canopies.
“Our vision is simple: to bring renewable energy sources closer to each individual and to improve and make life easier for our citizens.”
